چکیده
Abstract. We consider the inverse scattering problem of determining the shape and the material properties of a thin dielectric infinite cylinder having an open arc as cross section from a knowledge of the TM-polarized scattered electromagnetic field at a fixed frequency. We investigate two reconstruction approaches, namely the linear sampling method and the reciprocity gap functional method, using far field and near field data, respectively. Numerical examples are given showing the efficaciousness of our algorithms..

متن کاملA New Implementation of Frequency Selective Surface Cloak for Cylindrical Structures
The main purpose of this paper is to design, implement and measure a new sample of mantle cloak. A new method called mantle cloak is introduced by cloaking an object by a single, conformal meta-surface which can drastically suppress the scattering of the desired object. In this paper, a grid lattice is placed around a dielectric object as the cloaking structure. Previously, this FSS has been ut...
متن کاملHybrid method for full identification of buried objects and surrounding media
This study describes a hybrid technique for identification of buried objects. The objects shape and electromagnetic profile are reconstructed from evaluations of electrical permittivity and conductivity. The method suggests a combination of linear sampling and optimization. Linear sampling method (LSM) is used to recover shape and metaheuristic optimizations essential to reconstruct the inside...
متن کاملQuantitative Measurement of Local Infrared Absorption and Dielectric Function with Tip-Enhanced Near-Field Microscopy.
Scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (s-SNOM) and Fourier transform infrared nanospectroscopy (nano-FTIR) are emerging tools for nanoscale chemical material identification. Here, we push s-SNOM and nano-FTIR one important step further by enabling them to quantitatively measure local dielectric constants and infrared absorption. Our technique is based on an analytical model, wh...
متن کاملA New Guideline for the Allocation of Multipoles in the Multiple Multipole Method for Two Dimensional Scattering from Dielectrics
A new guideline for proper allocation of multipoles in the multiple multipole method (MMP) is proposed. In an ‘a posteriori’ approach, subspace fitting (SSF) is used to find the best location of multipole expansions for the two dimensional dielectric scattering problem. It is shown that the best location of multipole expansions (regarding their global approximating power) coincides with the med...
